An interview with Haipo Yang, a crypto OG who’s trying to reposition his Bitcoin Cash-based CoinEx exchange. And more, in this week’s da bing.

Haipo Yang, founder of ViaBTC, one of the largest mining pools in the world, and CoinEx, a crypto exchange known for its focus on Bitcoin Cash-based trading, is a well-known but relatively quiet character in China’s crypto circle. Typically, Yang doesn’t talk that much about his journey launching the mining pool, nor about CoinEx, which launched in December 2017.
And he almost never speaks about his fervent support for BCH, a hard fork of Bitcoin, and his now even more enthusiastic belief in BSV.
Yet that’s changing of late. Yang has been more active in recent months, participating in interviews about CoinEx and tweeting more frequently on Weibo, China’s Twitter. He’s been making controversial statements predicting the death of BTC, while supporting BCH and BSV on social media.
Recently, Yang told me that as a developer rather than a business person, he’s never been comfortable speaking in public. However he’s making an effort now to help publicize his renovation of CoinEx. So, for this week’s da bing, I decided to chat with him and get a peek into the mind of a veteran crypto entrepreneur who’s trying to make a personal, as well as a platform, comeback.

CoinEx’s golden opportunity

The first hard fork of Bitcoin occurred in August, 2017 and created a new cryptocurrency called Bitcoin Cash. The fork was prompted by partisans, including Yang, who wanted bigger block sizes on the blockchain — the basic idea was that bigger blocks would enable more transactions per second and make Bitcoin Cash something people would actually use to buy things, rather than Bitcoin’s more commonly perceived use as a store of value.
Yang added a tremendous amount of value to the mining scene in China. As a technical founder with has years of experience in big tech firms such as Tencent, Yang is proud of his #buidl skills. He developed most of the code in the early days of VicBTC, which became one of the biggest mining pools to this day.
Not satisfied with owning just a mining pool,Yang conceived of CoinEx, which was born in December of that year, specifically to carry on the mission of the newly forked Bitcoin Cash blockchain. As he got swept up in Bitcoin Cash enthusiasm, he even said that “BCH is bitcoin.”
CoinEx’s strategy was BCH-focused from day one; BCH was its base currency, meaning you could use it to buy and sell other currencies, such as Ethereum and Litecoin.
Interestingly, Jihan Wu, the co-founder of Bitcoin Exchange — himself a famous BCH supporter — was a big investor in the exchange. That made me wonder why he, Yang, and many other OG crypto miners, were so passionate about BCH. Was it just about bigger block sizes?
“Bigger block size means more users and use cases,” Yang explained. The move to bigger block sizes was attractive to miners because they would facilitate more transactions. Miners make money on transaction fees, as well as mining blocks. Likewise, the network would arguably be more useful to people, who were looking for digital cash for every day use.
That especially resonated with many early hardcore Bitcoiners. Said Yang: “We really believe that Bitcoin should be a P2P cash vehicle rather than a store of value.”
This view probably sounds outdated to people who believe that Bitcoin’s value as cash is long gone, with solutions such as Lightning Network fulfilling that role. Instead, the new narrative for Bitcoin resides in its value, rather than utility. Yet Yang believed that the forked network would create far more opportunity
“We could invite influential companies to establish nodes and contribute to the network. This cannot be done with the original Bitcoin architecture,” he said.

CoinEx pivots

But from its inception, CoinEx struggled with adoption and was dwarfed by the bigger exchanges. Part of that had to do with the fact that BCH and “Bitcoin Satoshi’s Vision,” another Bitcoin hard fork, were both controversial. Critics pointed out that these networks are centralized in a few big mining pools, and 51% attacks are not out of the question.
So over time, though Yang’s exchange still maintains strong support for BCH and BSV, it began to add support for all the major currencies.
Finally, in January of this year, it announced a major upgrade, of… well, just about everything. It started to offer futures trading, leveraged trading, options trading, and over 100 token projects available to traders. It even rolled out its own blockchain, “CoinEx Chain” to support a new DEX, “CoinEx DEX.”

The seemingly sudden publicity of CoinEx should not come as a surprise, then. As BCH/BSV was being marginalized, Yang shifted his focus. He’s now trying to ride the wave of building a bigger, more dynamic exchange.
“Crypto exchanges are where value is discovered,” Yang told me.

CoinEx: TNG

Building an exchange isn’t done overnight, nor is re-building one. CoinEx is still competing with the giants such as Binance.
However Yang thinks his exchange will thrive by zigging when his competitors zag. As usual, CoinEx is taking a slightly different route, he told me.
Like what? “We will be listing 小币种,” he said, using the expression for “small token projects.” I cannot help but wonder if these “small token projects” are simply shitcoins, the trading of which is certainly not new.
Indeed, Yang said that he’s banking on the success of his new, public blockchain. “We are building a CoinEx Chain, a layer one protocol for DEX alone. Using our public blockchain, anyone can issue any token, at any time,” he said. He described the blockchain as “a real decentralized, token-issuance and transaction platform.”
This is the core of Yang’s plan and vision. He believes that centralized exchanges will be a bottleneck for crypto adoption because it contradicts crypto’s nature as a completely free and open infrastructure. Essentially anyone should be able to launch a token and trade it with anyone. Only by building DEXes can we achieve full decentralization, he says.

The Religious nature of Bitcoin, and forked Bitcoin

It’s his belief that Bitcoin should adhere to Satoshi’s original vision that led Yang to send yet another controversial tweet last week, which I will translate: “The early days of Bitcoin expansion are similar to religion. The religious fervor brings prosperity to the industry.”
By extension, Yang believes that the next generation of Bitcoin should provoke a similar “religious” fervor. That’s why he has slowly become more of a BSV advocate than a fan of Bitcoin Cash. Yang believes that “BSV has more religious connotations, despite its negative image.” (As most crypto people know, the controversial Craig Wright, who claims to be Satoshi Nakamoto, led the hard fork which created BSV. Consequently it is often met with skepticism and derision.)
“The early days of Bitcoin expansion are similar to religion,” said Yang. “The religious fervor brings prosperity to the industry.”
Crypto is famous for its tribalism. Many people choose one camp over another not for practical reasons but because of simple faith. Talking to Yang and reading his tweet brings a historic texture to the Bitcoin narrative. But crypto cannot survive on religion alone. One has to build. Hash might have been worshipped in the old days but now the crypto religion is all about the size of the congregation.

Experiment , generate more Bitcoin by buying top10 altcoins in 2020.
Finally i have made a decision to do this experiment generating more Bitcoins by buying shitcoins . About which i was talking on my video on YouTube in march 2019. So basically my plan was to buy some alt-coins with Bitcoin and in that way generate more Bitcoins. I have made this decision because most of the alt-coins has reached lowest points against BTC in my opinion. And proving by history they usually bounce of it. Another big reason is that Bitcoin halving is due in May 2020. This could spike up Bitcoin price and alt-coins could possible dragged with it. I cannot guarantee i will succeed but i will do an update every month or quarter on YouTube channel how am im doing with this chosen portfolio. I have a good feeling i will succeed, as i am not Bitcoin maximal and shit-coin minimalist. I am quite good at recognizing innovation. Few of my purchased coins potentially could do much better then Bitcoin price in nearest future.

https://preview.redd.it/4dionqaitra41.png?width=1302&format=png&auto=webp&s=7ca6551ab65e36c33ea3ded6c68a25f998fac4c4
So the plan is to spend 2 BTC and buy 10 alt-coins. 0.2 Bitcoin each alt-coin. I am using binance to purchase these coins and i will add them in my portfolio tracker https://www.cryptocompare.com/portfolio/ . This place is very nice where to track your crypto portfolio from desktop. I do believe 99% alt-coins are scam and will fail in future, but there also will be some who will survive. The reason i think im going to succeed is not only that these projects are useful. But i only need 1 alt-coin to do 10x in bull market against btc and the rest can fail to brake even.
My top 10 alt-coins purchased and the reasons behind it :
  • Ethereum - By dapp platform stats Ethereum is winning every other gen2-gen3 blockchains which are Tron,Eos etc in every aspect. Built Dapps, new users, existing users, volume and so on. Users and developers are the main key for s block-chain project to succeed. Ethereum has issues yes, there is not much room to grow. But there is constant development going on to increase platforms usability. Another thing is DeFi (decentralized finance) which got very popular in 2019 . Which basically brings banking to block-chain. This new turn on Ethereum is gaining momentum and growing every day. This will be huge in my opinion in 2020.

  • Chainlink - Chainlink is something unique. Currently Block-chains smart contracts cannot record data on them from outside world, they can do only on chain data. Which is timestamps, block numbers, transaction value. On their own they cannot listen to outside world which is called of chain data. But Chainlink fixes this issue, feeding this information trough decentralized oracles to smart contracts. It really made this utility token very popular in 2019, because of their massive partnership with google cloud. And on top of that they already have working product and it is been used by numerous crypto projects. It currently is looking the biggest contender to fix this issue what block chains has.

  • Basic attention token ( BAT) - is solving Advertisers and Content creators as myself problem ,what we have currently. For example Google collects about 40-50% add revenue from YouTube adds. Basic attention token ( BAT) solves this issue with their Brave browser. Brave browser allows you to tip your favorite content creators and block companies which collects your privacy data. So how does it work , Advertiser purchases advertisement with BAT tokens which goes to users and content creators. You actually are getting paid to watch adds. So it disables the middle man like google in this case who is taking 50% cut. Technically if Brave browser platform grows, price should increase.
  • Monero - Monero is a privacy coin. I do believe that privacy coins will be very demanded in future. As block-chains are getting bigger and bigger adoption, eventually governments will crack down on them. And will develop software which will allow them to trace and get user privacy data. This could happen already this year, as recent statements from EU leaders are they need more regulation on Crypto and block-chain. Monero is one of the oldest privacy coin out there. And these events around possibly could spike up Monero price. I don't want to hype it to much, but privacy was one of the main feature why Bitcoin was invented.
  • Neo - neo is 3rd generation blockchain similar as Ethereum. Neo comes out of China, which is one of the main reasons why im choosing this smart contract platform. Recent statement from Chinese president Xi Jinping that they have to adopt block-chain technology in their country. This statement made me very bullish on NEO. 3rd generation block-chain platforms really will kick of in 2020, just because the possibilities can be developed on them. I don't really think yet we have figured out what can be deployed on these platforms. We can see that as time goes by, new things are been figured out like DeFi, games, fundraising and many more. Also the price on NEO has drooped about 20x since all time high. And recent volume has been growing on NEO platform. So fingers cross, Neo going to bring us honey.
  • Cosmos (ATOM)
  • IOTA (MIOTA)
  • Synthetix (SNX)
  • Tezos (XTZ)
  • Cardano (ADA)

I have gone trough these projects social media channels and looked how active is the community. GitHub, is there any active development on their platform. Also is there any fundamentals and working product behind it. These are the main reasons i have picked these coins for my challenge. This is not any financial advice, i'm just looking to do a challenge/research. Is this a way to increase bitcoin in bull market by buying alt-coins. I'm playing this safe and choosing the coins from top 50 in coin-market cup. Because i do believe if coin is valuable it should at-least have some value in bear market.

NYC Meetup - Full Summary!

Following up on my other post which shared only a few high level points I thought people would be interested in, here's a more in-depth summary of the meetup. THIS IS VERY LONG! I don't really have a TL;DR beyond my other short highlight thread, but I think there are some other high level summaries. This is for those who want a very thorough recap of what was discussed. I'm happy to update this with anything shared in the comments which I remember and think is additive to the summary, definitely didn't catch every single thing.
I'm leaving out a few talking points/questions that either 1) I didn't totally catch, 2) provided no incremental information or 3) were just bad questions (there were some).
Sunny's Speech
Sunny began with a history of blockchain, from the bitcoin whitepaper to the first few alt coins to the advent of Ethereum. He then went on to discuss the extent to which these various stages involved meaningful/useful innovation: original alt coins did not, ethereum of course did, but is heavily flawed for enterprise use. He then went on to discuss what those primary flaws are and how VeChain is trying to solve them (scalability, governance, cost, etc.) He noted that technology is not blockchain's biggest obstacle, it's adoption. He talked about how, although some people will tell him to "get lost or something" he doesn't really believe in full decentralization. I think his point was that although it's nice in theory, it just isn't really practical, and it's a bad approach in particular for trying to get this new blockchain technology adopted in the mainstream. This goes back to something he said in another interview at some point - you can't just come in with totally new, radical technology outside the existing framework and replace everything that exists from the outside. You have to start within the existing framework, show people what's possible, and then change the system from the inside out.
He went on to discuss what he sees as problems with some of the existing projects. Talked about how projects in the top 20 have ecosystems worth 2 billion dollars, hold hundreds of millions of dollars worth of their own tokens to be used for the project's development etc., but they don't have a CFO. He thinks that should concern people.
I don't remember exactly where it fit in the narrative, but he discussed valuation/speculation. He pointed out that they have a number of their university research partners trying to work out token valuation models. He made a general point that more utility should equal more value, the implication being VeChain will have more real utility (and should therefore have more value) than any other blockchain. They had a slide showing some calculations and pointed out that if you look at the known metrics, the dividends, etc., the price of Google's stock is 85.7% speculation. Only $161 of it's $1,128 value (at the time they ran these numbers) can be tied to the current value. For Tencent, it's 93.5% speculation. He jokingly pointed out that in crypto it's about 99.99%, but I think one of the unspoken points here is that it's silly to think that on mainnet launch speculation about the future value is going to go away and you'll just have token value based on current Thor production. That isn't how markets or valuation work.
He then basically mocked people complaining about the code not yet being open source, and there being no whitepaper - the people who think these are red flags and that the project might be a 'scam'. As if PwC and DNV GL didn't do extensive diligence.
On this point, I'll quote GarzyWarzy from another thread:
"Sunny mentioned that the crypto community as a whole doesn’t seem to appreciate the level of reputational risk that these multi billion dollar enterprise partners take by publicly backing a blockchain startup (“what do people think would happen if PwC backed us and we failed in 6 months?”). As an investment banker who deals extensively with corporate governance issues and every type of business risk imaginable, I will add my two cents that this risk is massive and that is it a clear sign of extensive diligence and extreme trust in the VeChain team to execute their business plan for developing their ecosystem. Always remember, “it takes many years to build a reputation, and seconds to ruin it”."
I'm a corporate lawyer and couldn't agree with this more. The people who think a whitepaper (which they likely wouldn't even understand) is more reassuring than the endorsement by DNV GL, PwC, Draper and Breyer (who would never, ever make such an investment without extensive due diligence) have no idea how things work in the corporate world. DNV GL and PwC are recommending VeChain to clients, and Draper and Breyer have made investments through their funds, where they have a fiduciary duty to the investors in those funds. The amount of diligence that occurs before taking those reputational and legal (negligence, breach of fiduciary duty, etc.) risks is truly exhaustive.
Back to adoption, Sunny went on to compare blockchain to TCP/IP, as he's done in the past. Most people use email every day, but do they care about TCP/IP? Of course not. Blockchain will be the protocol infrastructure for things people use every day, whether they know it or not.
At this point, continuing to talk about adoption and use cases, he mentioned that they signed a top 3 insurance company in China as a client, and he also mentioned a CRM use case that's in the works.
He said the whitepaper will be out in a few days, and will explain a lot of what they're doing/what they're trying to do, and what some of the use cases are. They are focused on developing as many practical use cases as possible - this is how you get adoption. Once the use cases are defined, you can start "developing killer dApps" in relation to them. I think this is, to some degree, a subtle shot at Ethereum - his point here being that developing lots of dApps on a platform doesn't really mean much unless those dApps actually relate to a practical, defined real world use cases which ensures they will be used and adopted.
The whitepaper took so long because, in Sunny's words, his "english sucks" and after he wrote it, his teams needed to double, triple, and quadruple review/edit/refine what he wrote so that it is in professional english.
Back to adoption, he stated there are around 13/14 crypto projects they are working with who intend to use VeChain (either porting over from Ethereum or launching an ICO on the platform. More on this in the Q&A section). One of them is a company that already generates $50 million/month in revenue and want to 'blockchain-ize' their business. He pointed out here this is a company that isn't just interested in padding their coffers - they have money, that isn't an issue. These are the types of projects they like to work with. They aren't interested in being a 'shitcoin generator' (this was said by Sunny in the Q&A and got a laugh and round of applause). Last point on this, he noted that BitOcean is taking so long because the "Japanese government are being assholes". That's a direct quote. Sunny is hilarious. I can't overstate how likable he is - he comes off as a down to earth, cool, funny and easy going guy.
Kevin's Speech
Next, Kevin spoke. This was a short update on authority nodes and the mainnet. He mentioned that most projects have masternodes as basically a marketing tool, they aren't that meaningful or necessary. VeChain's authority masternodes are essential to the ecosystem. You can not become an authority node if you can not meaningfully contribute to growing the ecosystem. There is no room for negotiation on this. They aren't interested in having random people running validating authority nodes for profit and nothing else. As far as the application process, they received over 100 applications and are expecting more (authority node application and monitoring process will be ongoing to make sure VeChain has the best authority nodes possible and that each node is continuing to fulfill all of its obligations). As far as the applicant pool, they were about 71% enterprise, 29% individual. About 52% China, 23% America, then a mix of HK, Singapore, Japan, and others.
He then addressed the mainnet. Internal testing is done, they are now moving on to the public alpha testing, which is by invite only and is not the open source phase. This phase starts today and includes a number of professional firms auditing the code: PwC's cybersecurity team, secureware.io, Slow Mist, and Hosho. They will also be putting a bug bounty on Hacken eventually, finding a critical vulnerability could get you up to 2000 VEN tokens. This private testing will go on for a few weeks, before the public testing begins in early June which involves the code becoming open source - as of now, they expect it to start in the first week or two of June.
Then, he announced the 1 VEN to 100 VET token split. The example he gave was talking to friends about buying Bitcoin - some responded "it's already $8000, I can't buy a bitcoin I can't afford it". Kevin would respond, well actually you can buy .001 bitcoin if you want... and then they'd lose interest. I think what he's getting at is they want to be prepared for years down the road when demand is enormous - they don't want people dealing in fractions. Yes, I'm also sure they are aware of the implications for this in terms of price and the attractiveness of a 5 cent token verses a 5 dollar token. I don't deny that. Look at fucking Tron.
The Q&A Session
Someone asked about how the authority nodes will be monitored. Kevin explained there will be a dedicated team for this. They are serious about having the highest quality authority nodes and holding them to the standards they expect. There will be a quarterly review process, and any issues will be brought to the Steering Committee, which may decide to remove/replace an authority nodeholder if they aren't contributing and fulfilling their obligations. He noted that the whitepaper will include a thorough section on their governance model.
Question about it being difficult, currently, for companies (especially in the west) to find out how to contact them and work with them. What are VeChain's plans in terms of a business development team, marketing, etc. Sunny explained that while obviously they'll have an internal BD team, and this is being built out, they also want to heavily leverage the resources of the community. In a way, the community will be a giant business development team, and they will create standard toolkits for the community to use to market/introduce VeChain to people in the first instance. The guy then asked what if I got you Pfizer - that's enormous, what's my incentive? Sunny responded there will be rewards in VET tokens for bringing them clients.
I don't remember what the exact question was, but it was noted at this point that although the private, consortium chain is an Ethereum fork, the mainnet was built from scratch and is not an Ethereum fork. They did intentionally use the Ethereum Virtual Machine, though, so that Ethereum dApps can be easily ported over to VeChain. It sounds like they expect this to happen quite a bit. They also talked about how they went through the web3 libraries and 80% will be able to work directly with VeChain. They want interoperability, compatibility, and ultimately, an easy transition for Ethereum developers and dApps.
Someone asked about them building out their own IoT business or letting others do the IoT work. Sunny talked about how he believes IoT is the way to connect blockchain to the physical world. There was a story not worth sharing about why they initially acquired an IoT team, but he gave this example: when Apple first released the app store and the ability to develop, nobody knew how or used it. So, Apple built the apps themselves and basically showed everybody what was possible and how to do it by example. So too will VeChain take this approach. They are partnering with IoT manufacturers and developing some of their own IoT solutions, and they'll continue to do this, but the point isn't to dominate IoT. They are showing the world by example what can be done in terms of IoT on the VeChain platform, and they ultimately want people/enterprises to be able to create their own value and their own IoT solutions on the VeChain blockchain. Anyone who wants to do so will be able to.
Question about enterprises buying once the enterprise pool runs out - what happens if enterprises aren't comfortable doing what all of us have done (wiring money to a fiat gateway exchange, buying bitcoin/ethereum, moving it to binance, buying in the market, transferring out of binance, etc.). Kevin isn't really worried about this. They are talking to exchanges and service providers about it, they're talking to Circle about fiat pairing, etc., but realistically Kevin can see that exchanges are becoming more advanced and that ultimately they will be institutionalized in a way that basically just mitigates this concern.
Question about storage of VET tokens after mainnet. There will be a mobile wallet launch at the exact same time. This mobile wallet will 1) facilitate the token swap from VEN to VET (most people will probably do this on exchanges, but eventually you'll be able to do it in the mobile wallet if you missed doing it on an exchange), 2) have a module that shows you what kind of node you are, 3) automatically receive your generated Thor, and 4) eventually allow you to hold other ERC-20 tokens. They also mentioned that although they're talking to ledger, etc. they are developing their own hardware wallet. Kevin explained this is essential for enterprises serving as authority nodes or holding large amounts of VET. They aren't going online and ordering a ledger and setting it up. VeChain needs to be able to provide this service and assurance for them, and they will. This is why these guys are lightyears ahead in terms of enterprise adoption. They've thought about these things.
Question about 'competitors' like Waltonchain. First, Sunny goes "who?" and Kevin goes "what's Waltonchain?" But then Sunny went on by saying the "right" thing - there are no competitors in such a fledgling industry. He would love to hold hands with the other blockchain projects trying to do good things, and walk into the future together. He thinks projects can learn from each other and help each other. They aren't trying to crush competitors or beat anyone or anything like that. However, Sunny also jokingly asked "Seriously, why do people think Waltonchain is our competitor? We are what, 15th biggest project, and they are...?" He also went on to say that he is judging some competition or tech demo later this month on the 26th-28th, and that Waltonchain is the demo product. He thinks this is sort of funny, but also said if their product is great and the demo is good, there is no reason he wouldn't support them, vote for them, etc.
Question about Breyer and Draper relationships. Draper is invested in many cryptocurrency projects and many companies, has tons of connections, and he gives VeChain a way of talking to all of those projects/companies. Breyer was the one who set them up with the research team at a Chinese university, he was the link to Circle to discuss fiat onramps, etc. The connections these guys bring are tremendous. I should note here that in a small group conversation with Kevin during the networking portion after the speeches, which was initiated by GarzyWarzy (perhaps he can elaborate further), he confirmed that Breyer and Draper are both meaningfully invested in tokens, not just equity of the technology portion of the company.
Some clown actually used up time to ask "is CCK here?" Sunny said someone asked him this at Harvard also, and he was absolutely adamant that he doesn't know who this person is or how they are getting the information they have. He did not comment on it beyond that. He clearly thought it was a dumb question and said seriously that once and for all, he really doesn't know who it is.
Question about how many projects will be running on the mainnet day 1. Sunny said it's hard to say for sure, but that there are currently between 20 and 25 use cases deployed on the consortium chain, all of which will be moved over in the first few months. He also mentioned the 15ish crypto projects that will be moving over to or launching on the platform, and the fact that their client pipeline is now over 250. He transitioned a bit from this point to discuss how they "don't want to be a shitcoin generator". If you come to them with a project that is just an ICO with a whitepaper and no product, no proof of concept, etc., they're not going to want you to launch that. They would rather invest in you if they think you're a good project, help you develop those things, prove out what you're trying to do, then help you launch a serious ICO or dApp with a real use case. Again, they are all about practical use cases, this is the path to adoption. That said, the project will be open source ("you guys asked for open source, so") there will be some shitcoins, it's unavoidable.
I think that covers most of what I remember. Hope you all enjoy!

Waltonchain All-in-One - Extended

Welcome!

I would like to warmly welcome everyone to waltonchain
This is an updated, extended community-written post and I will try to update it regularly over time.
Please respect our rules (see sidebar) and feel free to comment, contribute and ask questions.

Getting Started

What is Waltonchain?

The Waltonchain Foundation is building a cross-industry, cross-data sharing platform by integrating Blockchain with the Internet of Things through self-developed RFID Chips with intellectual property rights.
The in-house developed Waltonchain RFID chips integrate a proprietary, genuine random number generator and an asymmetric encryption logic and hardware signature circuit, all of which are patent-protected.
The combination of self-developed RFID chips and the Waltonchain blockchain will ultimately achieve the interconnection of all things and create a genuine, believable, traceable businessmodel with totally shared data and transparent information.
Waltonchain will unfold a new era of the Value Internet of Things (VIoT).

The Project

The Waltonchain team has formulated a 4-phase development plan, starting from infrastructure platform establishment to gradually incorporating retail, logistics and product manufacturing, and to finally achieving the full coverage of the business ecosystem.

As for the phase 1.0 of the project, the team has developed the clothing system integration scheme based on RFID. The application scenarios at phase 1.0 will establish Golden demonstration template
At phase 2.0, our RFID beacon chip will be massproduced and can be used in clothing, B2C retail and logistics.
At phase 3.0, manufacturers will achieve traceable customization of intelligent packaging.
At the project phase 4.0, with the upgrading and iteration of assets information collection hardware and improvement of blockchain data structure, all assets can be registered in Waltonchain in the future.

Here on Cryptoindex blog, we would like to tell you more about each coin selected by our powerful Cryptoindex AI-based algorithm. We’ll be posting one article about one coin from the portfolio with #cix100coinreviewhashtag.
Today we would like to review Cardano and their further plans.
So what is Cardano? And why does this coin take the TOP-10? Let's look at this project.
Cardano was released on September 29, 2017, under the 'Byron' bootstrap phase with the official launch in Japan. Cardano has been developed by the company for the development of the input-output module Hong Kong (IOHK). Charles Hoskinson, former co-founder of BitShares, Ethereum, and Ethereum Classic, is currently focused on aiming all of the company’s resources at launching smart contracts, decentralized applications, sidechains and multi-party computing.
The platform is setting a course towards creating a new decentralized economy and democratization of finance in emerging markets. The technology will allow the creation of decentralized applications and make smart contracts that are simultaneously inexpensive, safe and scalable.
How does this technology differ from others?
Blockchain technology will soon be used globally. Prior to its sucсess, it had several critical issues, such as the absence of regulatory oversight, the experimental development of software with unproven security, poor management reducing the ability to plan long term. But the Cardano project is very different: Like a Ripple it considers the need for regulatory oversight, preserving the privacy and protection of consumers through an innovative software architecture. The protocol itself contains a multilevel, block-based block-block that is flexible, scalable and developed using the most rigorous academic and commercial software standards in the industry. Cardano will use a system of democratic governance that will allow the project to evolve over time and to sustainably fund itself through a system of vision of applicants.
Unique technology
Transactions involving ADA are publicly registered through the blockchain, allowing you to see the date and time of the transaction, the amount sent and the sender's common address. The real version according to the developers will be launched very soon one version of Cardano ‘Testnet’ is already active.
Layers
Cryptocurrency ADA works on its own level, called Cardano Settlement Layer (CSL). CSL is the level of accounting and support for operations with cryptocurrency wallets. The second layer, called the Cardano Computation Layer (CCL), will support smart contracts and decentralized applications. This multi-level architecture allows you to simplify updates.
How is Cardano's control organized?
Cardano is a project consists of three institutions that have separate roles, all of which contribute to the development of the project:
  1. The Cardano Foundation is responsible for the "standardization, protection and promotion" of Cardano technology. 2.IOHK is a world-class blockchain engineering company responsible for the Cardano blockchain construction. 3.Emurgo is responsible for the development of commercial applications created on the Cardano ecosystem. The original ideas about Cardano were initiated by a group of cryptocurrency enthusiasts, investors, and entrepreneurs from Asia at the end of 2014. The HK input project (IOHK) was involved in the development and implementation of Cardano. In addition, the Cardano Foundation, which is based in Switzerland and, was established to assist in supervising the development of Cardano, its ecosystem, activities, and protection on behalf of the users of the protocol. Another organization, Emurgo, based on the Isle of Man, was established to provide commercial activities on behalf of the ecosystem and the community. These three organizations are completely separated in ownership and leadership.
What is ADA? And what is its peculiarity?
ADA is a cryptocurrency in the Cardano system itself and it is used to receive and send money. The developers believe that digital money, such as ADA, shows how future money will be. This allows you to quickly transmit quickly value with guaranteed security through cryptography. To use ADA users should use the Daedalus wallet, which is a hierarchical deterministic, multi-platform, secure wallet designed specifically for this cryptocurrency. The wallet is easy to install and it allows you to view everything and perform a transaction search on demand. You use it to view specific information about the status of the blockchain. It also contains encrypted cost passwords and private keys for added security and the ability to export to a paper certificate for cold storage. The purchase of ADA can be done through unencrypted or encrypted redemption certificates, and users can set the level of the guarantee of the transaction. The Cardano team is also working on adding support for Ethereum Classic, Bitcoin and creating a mobile wallet for iOS and Android. They are also working on an application repository that includes support for almost all crypto and community-based applications, as well as creating bids that will allow ADA owners to generate blocks and thereby earn more than before.
How to buy ADA?
Currently, you can buy or sell ADA cryptocurrencies through several exchanges, the number of which is constantly growing. Cryptocurrency will also be available at some ATMs in Japan. Those who have an ADA will also be able to choose a Cardano debit card that allows you to use it like any other currency. The funds are automatically converted into your local currency for unimpeded use. The debit card will be connected to the application so you can track transactions and ADA balance. Currently, ADA can be purchased from Binance or Bittrex.
Conclusion
The project Cardano has all the prospects to become one of the most reliable blockchain platforms. The solutions that the company offers are far superior to its competitors, such as Ripple and Stellar. The company has a good team, competent management, and excellent technological solutions. All these qualities can help to achieve the company worldwide recognition, even despite such a high competition in the crypto world.
At the time of writing, Cardano is 1.63% of the total of CryptoIndex portfolio.

AMA with trade.io CEO (part 3)

AMA with trade.io’s CEO (Part 3)

Posted by Xalat on July 13, 2018
Tokens Listing
Q: Which coins will be listed on the exchange initially?
A: Initially it will be the basic, big coins, but then we will roll out a ton after, especially ERC20. Have a bunch of listings and ICO clients that will come out quickly as well. So at start:
BTC — Bitcoin BCH — Bitcoin Cash ETH- Ethereum LTC — Litecoin TIO — TradeToken
USDT — May be available right at launch or at the very least within 2–3 days following launch.
ERC20 — we are looking at rolling out maybe 200 as soon as possible, but priority is on listing clients and ICO clients.
EOS and XRP soon.
Q: When will the exchange support FIAT?
A: Soon, there is no regulatory issue, just want to scale into features.
Q: Will we have any kind of voting system for new coin listings? Can you tell us anything about your plans on how new listings will be done? Would TIO owners have any privileges over others?
A: We are not looking to limit coins by any means, just need a controlled process to roll them out.
Regulations and Jurisdictions
Q: Can you speak on the progress with regards to regulations in the various jurisdictions? Which jurisdictions is trade.io currently focusing on, or which is top priority at the moment?
A: Working on HK, Singapore, Switzerland, Malta right now as the bigger ones. Smaller ones as well. We are meeting with regulators in the US as well.
Q: Are u also considering India?
A: India is unclear as to regulations right now.
Q: Will trade.io move to comply with the SEC and other regulatory bodies worldwide as they ask for information on customer protections, etc?
A: Already started, meetings already happening. We will do what we can to eliminate insider trading, wash trading, bots, fake volumes, all the bad things that hurt customers and plague other exchanges.
Roadmap
Q: When is the new Road-map being published?
A: After exchange and LP launches.
LP
Q: When will the LP fully launch? After 30 days of exchange? And the profit of the LP will count from the 1st day of exchange launch?
A: There is only a full version of LP, there is no beta version of LP. Profit starts immediately, LP will launch after 30 days i.e. profits start from next week at launch of the exchange. ICO consultancy revenues will be included regardless when exchange launches.
Q: Will there be something which tells the day’s profit with detail for transparency before LP launch?
A: There will be a LP distribution amount widget, but not promising that before LP launch.
Q: How much can we expect from LP daily payouts in the first month? Nothing at all? Something more than current airdrops program? Or much more than current airdrops?
A: The exchange needs to ramp and generate volume, then the LP will have meaningful distributions.
Q: There were some thoughts that the running costs would eat up the revenues that was already generated from consultancy arm that would left very few to be distributed. Could you tell us this is not the case? And in general, costs to be subtracted from LP is only direct costs that affects it, could you confirm that as well?
A: You mean operations? No that is covered from our 50%.
TIO Token
Q: After the exchange has been launched, how is the price movement of TIO expected to react? Do you not have any estimation for it?
A: Impossible to know, however, we are actively exploring moving TIO to exclusively be traded on trade.io exchange and de-list from other exchanges, for more control over price manipulation.
Q: What’s the solution in the future to avoid something like Bitforex?
A: They picked us up on their own. It is impossible to prevent a supposed decentralized exchange from listing TIO
Q: What measures will be taken to boost the trading volume of TIO token after launch of exchange. With the LP, the volume might be very low as it is today?
A: If you look at the token economics of TIO, it is designed to be more like a Berkshire Hathaway than a high volume penny stock. The goal is to drive value, not volume. The more value we create, and with low float, this will be good for price.
Q: Will TIO be trade-able with other commodities listed under FX Primus ?
A: Most likely not, as its a crypto asset so it will be traded against other cryptos.
trade.io Exchange
Q: What is the ETA for decentralized exchange?
A: There is no ETA at this time, we’re fully focused on making sure we have a flawless centralized exchange and execute on the liquidity pool.
Q: Will trade.io offer margin trading?
A: We will. Working with risk management to get it structured.
Q: What about futures and options?
A: Talking to some vendors specifically about this as possible partners.
Q: Will trade.io have algo trading?
A: Talking to a partner on that currently as well
Q: Why limit the launch to just 1000 initially?
A: The limitation to 1000 is not really for technology reasons, its more to allow customer support to get feet under them before we pummel them. It’s 1000 on Day 1, looking to open up to many thousands, within only a few days following launch. There is no level of training that can prepare support/finance, etc. once live users come through the door. This is not our first rodeo with running brokerages, so we understand its a completely different ballgame once the bright lights are on.
Q: What about Blossom wallet?
A: That wallet is under development, which makes it easier to participate in ICOs, have KYC, etc.
Q: Are MEW or other wallets going to be integrated in such a way as to make it possible to be able to participate in the LP without having them on the exchange? If this is actually possible that is. Will Private Keys be made available to the holders of the wallets in trade.io?
A: Not sure on security on that. May be part of hybrid DEX solution. Also, transaction fees would be high, since every transaction would be recorded on BC, cant really use ledger. Not ideal overall.
Q: Will trade.io place their own buy and sell orders to maintain liquidity?
A: We will keep risk low initially, but over time us and outside (institutional) providers will be doing this.
Partnerships
Q: What are the plans with FX Primus?
A: The current initiative with FXP, is to accept TIO as a deposit method, then eventually allow TIO to be traded on the platform.
Q: Are there any updates on the Angel Investors Program? What roles do Kosmos, Plutus VC and Blockway Capital play in the Angels Investors Program?
A: We are sending them deals to look at where they know we already did KYC, took a first pass, etc. They are also bring us deals to look at as well.
Security
Q: Can u please tell us about the security measures taken for exchange. As these days many exchanges are being hacked even the so called best exchange i.e. Binance , Bancor etc.
A: We have in-house, outside team, Cloudflare, Fireeye, etc. To elaborate, virtually all client assets are kept in cold storage as well.
Q: Are there plans to provide insurance against hacking? If wallets get hacked is it guaranteed that owners will get all their tokens back? One suggestion is that part of the undistributed funds from the LP (due to tiers with percentages less than 100%) can be used to offer such insurance, If necessary…if not, could be retained by the company …Security is obviously of the utmost importance especially if trade.io is targeting institutional investors. This insurance would bring extra peace of mind.
A: We are looking for answers on that, so I like the suggestion. Nothing definitive yet. We will explore insurance and other things, but same answer for all of crypto, there is nothing like FDIC yet.

Hiro S, [14.07.18 00:22]
Jim, I know this a tough one, but there is a lot of specuative thoughts around what LP will share when it starts, and I saw way too optimistic, in my view. Today, the expectation of nothing will be distributed on the first month and lots will be distributed that will make TIO moon are two events of equal probability, at least for me. Can give us a better directions that any of this outcome is not a 50/50 probability? Or being more direct, how much can we expect from LP daily payouts in the first month? Nothing at all? Something more than current airdrops program? Or much more than current airdrops? thank you.
Jim Preissler, [14.07.18 00:22]

I mean which version of LP will launch after 30 days of exchange full launch? Beta version LP or full version LP? I see the new road map on trade.io website, it has beta LP.

there is only a full version of LP, there is no beta version of LP

Hey Tsas, i can help with that one.

Paul Johnson -trade.io, [14.07.18 00:25]

The current initiative with FXP, is to accept TIO as a deposit method, then eventually allow TIO to be traded on the platform.

No worries though, as revenue generated will be calculated from Day 1 of the launch
Jim Preissler, [14.07.18 00:27]
Obviously, the success of the LP is directly tied to success of exchange

Correct, there is no level of training that can prepare support/finance, etc. once live users come through the door. This is not our first rodeo with running brokerages, so we understand its a completely different ballgame once the bright lights are on.
S Aggarwal, [14.07.18 00:28]
@JimPreissler will there be something which tells the days profit with its details for transperancy before lp launch?
Dustin McDaniel, [14.07.18 00:28]
[In reply to Paul Johnson -trade.io]
so, revenue generated to this point, through ICO consultancy, etc... is not included in LP? Only what is generated after exchange launch?

They said eariler it will be included

Can u please tell security measures taken for exchange... As these days many exchanges are being hacked even the so called best exchange i.e. binance , bancor etc
Jim Preissler, [14.07.18 00:32]
[In reply to Hai Nguyen]
That wallet is under development, which makes it easier to participate in ICOs, have KYC, etc.
Dustin McDaniel, [14.07.18 00:32]
[In reply to S Aggarwal]
And on that note....
Are there plans to provide insurance against hacking? If wallets get hacked is it guaranteed that owners will get all their tokens back? One suggestion is that part of the undistributed funds from the LP (due to tiers with percentages less than 100%) can be used to offer such insurance, If unnecessary...if not, could be retained by the company …Security is obviously of the utmost importance especially if trade.io is targeting institutional investors. This insurance would bring extra peace of mind.
Johnson, [14.07.18 00:33]
Jim, what measures will be taken to boost the trading volume of TIO token after launch of exchange. With liquidity pool, I think the volume might be very low as it is today
DeviLpaL ~ trade.io Moderator, [14.07.18 00:33]
Hold on guys. Let jim answer Q one by one
Hiro S, [14.07.18 00:33]
There was some thoughts that running costs would eat up the revenues that was already generated from consultancy arm that would left very few to be distributed. COuld you tell us this is not the case? And in general, costs to be subracted from LP is only direct costs that affects it, could you confirm that as well? thank you.
Jim Preissler, [14.07.18 00:33]
[In reply to S Aggarwal]
We have inhouse, outside team, cloudflare, fireeye, etc.
S Aggarwal, [14.07.18 00:34]
[In reply to Dustin McDaniel]
I think the undistributed profit (as for those having less than 100%) will add to profit of next day
Grimlock, [14.07.18 00:34]
[In reply to Jim Preissler]
the important question is still: in case of any hacking, are we guaranteed our tokens back?
Paul Johnson -trade.io, [14.07.18 00:34]
[In reply to Jim Preissler]
To elaborate, virtually all client assets are kept in cold storage as well.
Jim Preissler, [14.07.18 00:34]
[In reply to Dustin McDaniel]
We are lookng for ans on that, so I like the suggestion. Nothing definative yet
Dustin McDaniel, [14.07.18 00:35]

I believe any undistributed for the day would be retained daily

Jim Preissler, [14.07.18 00:36]
[In reply to Johnson]
if you look at the token economics of TIO, it is deisgned to be more like a berkshire hathaway than a high volume penny stock. The goal is to drive value, not volume. The more value we create, and with low float, this will be good for price
S Aggarwal, [14.07.18 00:37]

At the end what to do with it ...it will keep on accumulating .... Better to distribute

I simpatize with this “insurance” would be also a nice promo tool on top of all top security measures and if security play its roles it will be an asset that company will have anyway.

This is promising and time to buy more Tio’s.
Jim Preissler, [14.07.18 00:45]

too early to be planning or discussing buybacks at this point, most don't fully understand the long term ramifications of this anyway. Most crypto doing this haven't thought it all the way through, but that is discussion for another day
Den, [14.07.18 00:46]
Hello guys, hi Jim! Got a question about negative days for LP. I don't really understand how it can be, exchange should stop trading and other revenue streams should be off for that day?
Oliver, [14.07.18 00:46]
Are you guys familiar with Ian Balina? He was hinting to an exchange partnership in his last video. The company will sponsor his world tour and meetup. It is not binance so I was hoping it could be TIO haha

*that's for Jim or BD

Q&A from CEO

Tokens Listing
Q: Which coins will be listed on the exchange initially?
A: Initially it will be the basic, big coins, but then we will roll out a ton after, especially ERC20. Have a bunch of listings and ICO clients that will come out quickly as well. So at start:
BTC – Bitcoin BCH – Bitcoin Cash ETH- Ethereum LTC – Litecoin TIO – TradeToken
USDT – May be available right at launch or at the very least within 2-3 days following launch.
ERC20 – we are looking at rolling out maybe 200 as soon as possible, but priority is on listing clients and ICO clients.
We will explore insurance and other things, but same answer for all of crypto, there is nothing like FDIC yet
